“你们这些以凡尘财富为荣的人啊！

你们当确知，财富是一道巨大藩

篱，隔在寻者与所寻、爱者与所爱

之间。绝大多数富人，既无法到达

祂尊前之庭，也不能进入祂知足顺

命之城。然而，不被财富阻于永恒

王国之外，也不因富有而丧失不灭

领土，这样的富人有福了。以至大

圣名为证，这富人的光芒将照亮天

国居民，犹如太阳照耀地球众生。”

“O YE THAT PRIDE YOURSELVES ON MORTAL RICHES!
Know ye in truth that wealth is a mighty barrier between the seeker and his desire, the lover and his beloved. The rich, but for a few, shall in no wise attain the court of His presence nor enter the city of content and resignation. Well is it then with him, who, being rich, is not hindered by his riches from the eternal kingdom, nor deprived by them of imperishable dominion. By the Most Great Name! The splendor of such a wealthy man shall illuminate the dwellers of heaven even as the sun enlightens the people of the earth!”

“大地之子啊！

确然，你当知晓，心中哪怕残

存一丝嫉妒，就永远到不了我永恒

的领土，也无法嗅闻我神圣天国的

圣洁馨香。”

“O SON OF EARTH!
Know, verily, the heart wherein the least remnant of envy yet lingers, shall never attain My everlasting dominion, nor inhale the sweet savors of holiness breathing from My kingdom of sanctity.”

“尘土之子啊！

天堂与尘间的一切，我已为你

命定，唯有人心，留作我圣美与荣

耀的居所，而你却将我家园和屋宇

让给他人。每当我神圣的显示者寻

找自己的居所，都发现那里住有陌

路人。无处栖身的祂，只好赶赴钟

爱者的庇护所。尽管如此，我仍掩

藏你的秘密，不愿你蒙羞。”

“O SON OF DUST!
All that is in heaven and earth I have ordained for thee, except the human heart, which I have made the habitation of My beauty and glory; yet thou didst give My home and dwelling to another than Me; and whenever the manifestation of My holiness sought His own abode, a stranger found He there, and, homeless, hastened unto the sanctuary of the Beloved. Notwithstanding I have concealed thy secret and desired not thy shame.”

“我的仆人啊！

最卑贱者乃世上不结果实的

人。这等人确实算作死人，岂止，

在上帝眼里，死人也好过那些懒散

无用之魂。”

“O MY SERVANT!
The basest of men are they that yield no fruit on earth. Such men are verily counted as among the dead, nay better are the dead in the sight of God than those idle and worthless souls.”

“欲望之子啊！

你还要在欲望之境翱翔多久？

我赐你翅膀，为使你飞向圣秘之

境，而非邪恶幻念之域。同样，我

给你梳子，是要你梳理我的乌发，

How long wilt thou soar in the realms of desire? Wings have I bestowed upon thee, that thou mayest fly to the realms of mystic holiness and not the regions of satanic fancy. The comb, too, have I given thee that thou mayest dress My raven locks, and not lacerate My throat.”

正义之子啊！

在那个夜晚，永在者之美从碧

绿的忠信巅峰来到塞德拉图- 蒙泰

哈，祂是如此地哀泣，令上天众灵

和上界居民也怆然恸哭。当问道为

何悲戚哭号？祂答道：我按照吩咐

在忠信之山上期候，却未从凡尘居

民中间闻到忠信芬芳；奉召而返时，

看啊！我见那些神圣之鸽在俗世群

犬的爪下备受折磨。随即天女自其

隐秘居处赶来，未蒙面纱光彩夺目，

询问众鸽之名；悉相告，仅余其一。

催问之下，说出该名的首个字母，

仙阁居民立即冲出荣耀居所。当第

二个字母吐露，他们全部跌落尘土。

此时，从圣殿最深处传来话音：“到

此为止，无须再言。”确然，我见证

他们今昔之行。”

“O SON OF JUSTICE!
In the night-season the beauty of the immortal Being hath repaired from the emerald height of fidelity unto the Sadratu’l-Muntahá, and wept with such a weeping that the concourse on high and the dwellers of the realms above wailed at His lamenting. Whereupon there was asked, Why the wailing and weeping? He made reply: As bidden I waited expectant upon the hill of faithfulness, yet inhaled not from them that dwell on earth the fragrance of fidelity. Then summoned to return I beheld, and lo! certain doves of holiness were sore tried within the claws of the dogs of earth. Thereupon the Maid of heaven hastened forth unveiled and resplendent from Her mystic mansion, and asked of their names, and all were told but one. And when urged, the first letter thereof was uttered, whereupon the dwellers of the celestial chambers rushed forth out of their habitation of glory. And whilst the second letter was pronounced they fell down, one and all, upon the dust. At that moment a voice was heard from the inmost shrine: “Thus far and no farther.” Verily We bear witness to that which they have done and now are doing.”

“我女仆之子啊！

引导向来源自言辞，如今却

源自行为。人人皆须展现纯正与圣

洁的行为，因言辞乃众所共有，而

如此行为只属于我垂爱之人。你们

要竭诚努力，以行为使自己卓尔不

群。在这神圣光辉之书简，我如此

劝谕你们。”

“O SON OF MY HANDMAID!
Guidance hath ever been given by words, and now it is given by deeds. Everyone must show forth deeds that are pure and holy, for words are the property of all alike, whereas such deeds as these belong only to Our loved ones. Strive then with heart and soul to distinguish yourselves by your deeds. In this wise We counsel you in this holy and resplendent tablet.”

“疏忽之儿女啊！

勿钟情于必逝之国度，也莫为

之欢喜。你们恰似那粗心之鸟，在

枝头上满怀自信地鸣叫。直到突然

之间，死亡猎手将它掷于尘土，那

旋律、那姿态、那色彩，均消逝无

踪。因此要当心，欲望之奴啊！”

“O CHILDREN OF NEGLIGENCE!
Set not your affections on mortal sovereignty and rejoice not therein. Ye are even as the unwary bird that with full confidence warbleth upon the bough; till of a sudden the fowler Death throws it upon the dust, and the melody, the form and the color are gone, leaving not a trace. Wherefore take heed, O bondslaves of desire!”

“虚荣之儿女啊！

为了一个转瞬即逝的国度，

你们抛弃了我不灭的领土。你们还

用俗艳的服饰装扮自己，并以此为

傲。以我圣美之名！我要用一色之

土将这一切掩埋，并抹除所有杂色

异彩，唯有选择我的本色的人除

外，我的本色涤尽万色。”

“O CHILDREN OF VAINGLORY!
For a fleeting sovereignty ye have abandoned My imperishable dominion, and have adorned yourselves with the gay livery of the world and made of it your boast. By My beauty! All will I gather beneath the one-colored covering of the dust and efface all these diverse colors save them that choose My own, and that is purging from every color.”

“迁出者啊！

我命定口舌用来颂扬我，别用

于诽谤而玷污它。若自我之火吞噬

了你，当反省自身之过，而非我受

造物之错，因为知己胜过知人。”

- 巴哈欧拉 -

“O EMIGRANTS!
The tongue I have designed for the mention of Me, defile it not with detraction. If the fire of self overcome you, remember your own faults and not the faults of My creatures, inasmuch as every one of you knoweth his own self better than he knoweth others.”

“尘土之子啊！

莫使你的眼离开不朽钟爱者的

无比琼浆，也别注目于必朽的污秽

糟粕。从神圣司酒者手中接取永生

之杯，你可拥有全部智慧，听闻无

形之境传来的玄妙之音。放声痛哭

吧，你们这些志向短浅之辈！你们

为何离弃我神圣不朽甘醇而转向易

逝之水？”

“O SON OF DUST!
Turn not away thine eyes from the matchless wine of the immortal Beloved, and open them not to foul and mortal dregs. Take from the hands of the divine Cupbearer the chalice of immortal life, that all wisdom may be thine, and that thou mayest hearken unto the mystic voice calling from the realm of the invisible. Cry aloud, ye that are of low aim! Wherefore have ye turned away from My holy and immortal wine unto evanescent water?”
