Day 3/19 Purification Series - Family Tribe

Root Chakra Family Tribe

According to the yogic philosophy, we choose our families according to our highest spiritual growth. Note, that I just said for highest spiritual growth and not for comfort.

The gender that is accorded to you is directed for your parents highest spiritual growth. Likewise, the order and gender of the children are no accidents and are for the very purpose of both the individual and familial spiritual growth and conducive to the individuals soul mission.

Does life make a lot more sense to you now?

It definitely did for me when I learned this.

I think one of the primal thoughts that all humans go through at least one time in life is think about how, or why you ended up in the family that you did. I mean you could not be more different, want to be separate from, yet at the same time hate that you naturally feel the same way, but then also deeply know that somethings they do, you don’t agree with and know in your heart of hearts, that’s not going to be you moving forward.

Reflection Questions

  1. What is the spiritual lineage of your ancestors?

  2. Are your current beliefs different from them? Why or why not?

  3. What are some beliefs and values that you currently hold true that you know are not from your original birth family? Make a list.

The reason why family is discussed in the 19 days of purification is because many of an individuals wounds, hurts, or traumas originate from the family realm, therefore to purify any unhealthy emotional residues, or emotional particles is essential for a thriving and healthful life.
